I’ve seen several threads where tractor supply chicks had injured legs tangled in string/stringlike stuff. Kind of concerning.

Where would I get the antibiotics? Vet? It looks ok so far. Should I wrap it in gauze?Just saw your new pictures, it is good you got the strangulating junk off but that is a nasty wound and may have compromised circulation: she may lose the leg! If it is cold and gray/dull colored/blue/black those are bad signs. Give her a few days before deciding how bad the damage is and antibiotics are highly recommended!
Update! I think Magdaline is doing better. She's putting more weight on her leg. It's still swollen but I think it's getting better. She's a tough little thingI noticed that her leg was injured the day we got her..it looked like she had wood shavings or something(but it wasn't i don't think) stuck in her leg between the feather part and scaley part of her leg (sorry don't know terms) now that has been picked off but it's still swollen and almost looks like string or something has been wrapped around it. I sprayed some antiseptic sprat to clean and moisten so I could see if it would loosen. But don't want to make anything worse. I don't want her to suffer and want to help. I hope someone has some ideas to help aide me to make her feel better. Thanks.
