Hello everyone! So this morning when I went to get the ducks my runner drake was acting off. He is stumbling around and seems to not be in control of himself. I’ve got him to drink some hen boost water but I can’t get him to eat anything. He’s about 4 years now and has never had any illnesses. I’ve been keeping him in my house away from the rest of the flock and he just sits in his cage quietly. He doesn’t seem to be having any trouble breathing and I haven’t seen him poop, his eyes are a little runny but the rest of him looks normal. I’ll get an appointment with the vet as soon as I can but I fear he will not make it that far. Any help would be extremely appreciated! Thanks!

He pooped a little just now, is seems to have a greenish color but barely anything. He has also been keeping his neck like this because he can’t hold it up.

Was this morning the first you noticed any off? With the sudden onset I'm wondering if he could have gotten into something poisonous. Is anyone else in the flock acting strangely?
Yes this morning was the first I noticed any problems. I did actually put him in a different pen recently. As far as I know nun of the other birds seem to be having trouble. If it is poison is there anything that can be done at this point? Thanks so much for the reply!

How is he doing today? Was he with other drakes in the pen? If so injury vs eating something bad is likely.
Unfortunately I don't know anything for if he got into something bad other than fluids and removing him from doing it again.
Maybe someone who does will chime in.

Thank you! He wasn’t with any other drakes, I’d separated him and five girls for breeding. All the other girls are fine so far so I’m assuming it’s something he ate. And recently he escaped his cage well I was away and I came home to find him wandering about so it could’ve been then to. He made it through the night but does not seem any better. Whatever his ailment is seems unchanging. I’ve luckily been able to get an appointment with the vet for him today so hopefully they’ll be able to figure it out and help him.

Alright I’ve got a new one. My duck has either had a stroke or got a bonk on the head. It’s sounding more like he hit his head and is bleeding into his brain. The vet said that he flinched when she touched it. I’ve been given some shots to help stop the bleeding and that should hopefully kick in within a few hours. Prayers would be appreciated!
