Something is wrong with trudy!

She has a bit of swelling near her eye. How does the eye itself look? Any bubbles or drainage? Head shaking can be a sign of respiratory infection or a disease such as mycoplasma (MG.) How is she breathing, and do you see any cough or sneeze? Get her drinking some water. Look at her droppings, feel of her crop for fullness or if it is puffy.

DE is really not something I would use on chickens because of it's irritation to eyes and breathing. Since you have not yet confirmed there is mites or lice, I would try to look for them first. It doesn't make since to treat for lice/mites unless you find them. Permetrhin is very safe to use in powder form or 10% liquid spray in treating for them as well as treating a coop.

Her face looks funny she got frost bite one her before I got her. But I came home she was standing but when I took her out she was just walking almost side ways like a drunk person. And then she was doing circles then walking and stopping. She popped right when I let her out and it was white pasty looking. She all around looks as healthy as can be feathers are fine I ccouldn't see anything under them. I wander if she could be egg bound or maybe just became blind. Because that's how she was acting like she was trying to follow my voice. But no coughing or sneezing. No drainage from eyes or mouth. And it look like she did eat some of the food I gave her.

And her neck was twitching when I came home just kept looking sideways and up and then when I tried to pick her up she tried using her weight to get out of my hands. All my other birds are healthy and happy. And no one picks on trudy. Like I said her and her sister are number 1 to Mr.Roo. I just don't know what to do and I watched and looked up wry neck and she isn't falling over backwards or into stuff. Just walking side ways and head turned. But not upside down or anything.

I’m so sorry your Trudy doesn’t feel well. Please give her some supportive care while you figure things out. Do you have poultry vitamins and electrolytes you can add to her water? I missed whether you had taken her inside to a safe, restful place?
If it is mites, I agree you need something fast acting if she is in this bad of shape. Please keep us posted.

As Eggcessive mentioned, it looks like there *might* be a slight bump, some swelling by the inner corner of her right eye, but its hard to tell from that photo. Some of the large breeds like Brahmas have lumpy-looking faces sometimes. Can you check it out closely and see?

If it is a bump, its very likely something nasty in her sinuses and will more than likely need to be removed by a vet asap. The pressure from an abscess or infection in her face can put pressure on her brain and kill her.

Well hers a pic of her pop no i have not I got her her sister a pullet leg horn and Sussex. From the same flock. Very clean and healthy environment I've had then since mid sept is say. No problems she just got done molying. When I got her I thought something was wrong with her eyes but nothing they look clean and normal just her skin is wrinkle. And I did just switch their food two days ago to blue seal home fresh they were eating traditional feed from a local feed store. But all day up until I found her she was fine. When I went out to the pen in the morning they were all out waiting by the door like always eat some fermented feed of blue seal and they all eat like normal foraged all day like normal. I just checked on her and she was laying normal head normal drinking water.

A twisting of the neck and walking in circles or backward can be a common sign of wry neck. Giving vitamins including thiamine and E, plus selenium found in egg, tuna, and sunflower seed can be helpful. Wry neck can be a symptom seen in head injuries, with respiratory and other infections, in vitamin deficiency, from heredity, and in certain diseases such as Mareks or leukosis.

Both now and all today other than when she was walking around and yes I was reading about wry neck ill try those vitamins. I really don't think she has mites since I didn't find anything and her feathers are all healthily looking and feeling and she isn't pecking at her self or anything. And if its wry neck can the rest of my flock get it? I mean in not going to put her back in anytime soon.
