Hi I’m Jessica and I have 7 chickens 4 were bought as pullets and I’ve recently acquired 3 adults from a livestock trade! My chickens live free range with 3 elder chickens from a different flock! All was fine until I got the new additions online and now the poo is very bad! It’s been 1 month! I’ve tried corid from tractor supply and it’s not working! I’m not sure what to do! Also, there are only a couple but they are shaking their head weirdly through out the day! I don’t think this is normal chicken behavior! Please help me!

I have had a couple of silkies that did that head shake thing and it's a vitamin deficiency causing neurological issues. We give those a human Vit E whole in their beak, then follow up with some scrambled eggs for the selenium. We also give them Poultry Cell vitamins in their water. Vitamins will help them fight off whatever it is.

Have you ever wormed them? That could be the problem.

If you so choose to worm them, here are resources for two products most use. You might be able to get those at a farm store otherwise there's a couple of places online.

Valbazen (albendazole): https://www.backyardchickens.com/ar...s-for-poultry-waterfowl-and-game-birds.75490/

Safeguard (fenbendazole)

Valbazen dosing is by weight.
undiluted at a dose of 0.08ml per pound of weight, given orally once, then repeated in 10 days.

Does the head shaking look like they are adjusting their crops in a circular motion? Or are they shaking their heads to shake loose secretions or mucus? Videos may be uploaded to YouTube, Vimeo, or Imgur and a link can be posted here. The dropping looks like a cecal dropping combined with a normal one. Cecal droppings are where the food in between the small and large intestine is fermented before moving on. They can occur in different colors.
