I just found out something really cool!

Aracauna rooster x Barred Rock hen!!!

Would any of you know what...

It will lay like?
Green egg?
Appearance?
Hardy?

If anyone knows PLEASE, PLEASE reply.

The pullets will lay an egg that is some shade of green. What color is the rooster?

By the way everyone, I was told any colour of Aracauna rooster x Barred Rock hen would turn out Black Sex Link. Is this true? If so does that mean it'll lay a lot of eggs?

Your chicks will be sex linked. Did you know that? The male chicks will have a spot on their heads and the pullets will be solid colored with no spot. I cross my black Araucana rooster on Barred rock and Cuckoo marans hens. I get gorgeous black pullets, most of them rumpless. Green eggs from the barred rock cross pullets, olive eggs from the marans pullets. They are wonderful layers.

How many eggs a year would they lay?

My rooster does not have tufts, so no tufts. Most of them are rumpless though. I am going to guess they lay 200-250 eggs their first laying season. I am in SC so they have no problem laying right through their first winter.

What colour are they when they mature?

My pullets are black. Yours probably will be too. You may get lucky and get some blues. Barred rocks have a black gene in their background. Your roosters will be barred, with only one barring gene.
