Is she able to pass any droppings? Do you think it is hard because there is an egg behind the prolapse? Some clearer updated pictures would be good.

I took her to my friend's tonight. That thing has not gone down.My friend pulled it gently, and it is like a string of flesh with this hard round ball hanging out of her. They felt up inside her while I held her and couldn't feel any egg. I wish I had thought to get better pictures when I had help. It is not a prolapse. She can go to the bathroom.

Did it come out yet? It could be a red malformed egg with a tail on it, but hard to know for sure. Lash egg material which resembles a fleshy egg mass might also be possible. A malformed egg would usually have a yolk. A lash egg looks like cooked egg material in layers.

Irritated tissue will swell and feel hard. It doesn't mean it's a tumor. If it's irritated, it will feel hard. I'm not a chicken person, so don't do this till a real chicken person chimes in, but cortisone ointment would lubricate and should help take down the inflammation. Has anyone tried this? Again, don't do it till a real chicken person chimes in. I'm a human doctor LOL and a new duck mama...
