something stripped my tomato plants

Here in east Texas - every year I have a problem with horned tomato worms. Then seem to show up in small clusters or herds. Last year I found 5 or 6 or them spread out between my tomatoes and pepper plants. They stripped my tomato and my pepper plants.

Its important to check the plants very well. Just one worm can strip a tomato or pepper plant in just 1 or 2 days. If you have anything like jalapeno peppers, bell peppers,,,, anything planted around the tomatoes - inspect those plants as well. Its easy to over look the worm because the are green and do not move. So look at every branch very well.

I'm going to spell this wrong....

You can buy BT (bactsyllis thurgacide?) at the garden store. BT is safe for everything BUT catapilliars, it's made from an enzyme in chyrstham petals that is toxic to catipilliars but leaves everything else alone, BUT you must spray every leaf, it's most effective when they're small. Hornworm eggs are bright green and are laid in singles on leaves, so you see those, crush as well.

Evan considers it his job to keep them at bay so he can eat his tomatoes.

Note 90% of the time we find the hornworms in the tops of the plants, they look like the underside of a curled leaf. We break off the leaves and put them out for the birds or toss them to the chicks.

It wasn't a woozle bluey.

Just got back from Bible camp and the heat index is up to 100*....no worm in site and I put little table and chairs all around them to protect them from our 2 ducks...in case they were the culprit.
