I used to use an HHD, they need specific settings, & often times don't heat up evenly. I have to put a towel on mine to keep heat in. They're a forced air model. That I’m not sure.

OK, that makes sense! Except, why is it acting up now? I have hatched tons of ducklings and chicks before, none of this has ever happened. I lost a duckling already… and opened the egg, it looked like the egg yolk was swollen!I used to use an HHD, they need specific settings, & often times don't heat up evenly. Sorry, it’s at 37.5 °C which is 99.5 °FThere is nothing any of us can do to help you if you don't know what temperature your incubator is running at one glance.
The only thing that will help you is to learn what temp your bator is in multiple spots at the same time/one glance. The only way to know this is to have calibrated thermometers in multiple spots in your incubator.
Are you certain it's being turned enough? You marked the egg? It doesnt seem like it-No I don’t.
Hopefully you can fix the issues and have better success. You're getting this reading from a calibrated thermometer or the built-in thermometer of the incubator? A built-in thermometer of an incubator is telling you the temperature in one spot not multiple spots of the incubator.Sorry, it’s at 37.5 °C which is 99.5 °F
My first HHD incubator worked fine for a few incubation rounds, then it began trying to cook my chicks. I think it had 142°F spikes, if I remember correctly.I lost a duckling

Ok… I didn’t know that. It is a built in one. You're getting this reading from a calibrated thermometer or the built-in thermometer of the incubator? A built-in thermometer of an incubator is telling you the temperature in one spot not multiple spots of the incubator.
Incubator built in thermometers are not correct.
You cannot trust a built-in thermometer or a humidity gauge.
You must always purchase separate instruments and calibrate them.
Ok thank you!!! I won’t be able to get all the stuff soon enough, unfortunately. :/My first HHD incubator worked fine for a few incubation rounds, then it began trying to cook my chicks. I think it had 142°F spikes, if I remember correctly.
I scrapped that one, & got one that works better.
Get some separate hygrometers, & thermometers, & calibrate them to see what's going on?
I have a how to video on YouTube with this model.
I'm sorry, I assume everyone that hatches with an incubator that is an active member here has already learned this, my bad.Ok… I didn’t know that. It is a built in one.
