Hey guys!

I was not sure where to post this, so I guess I will post it here!

My white Dove, Gabriel, seems to be having problems today :/

She was perfectly fine yesterday when I checked on her, hyper active and flying around as usual, but now, she is dragging herself along the bottom of the cage with her wings and is quite weak when I take her out (Having a hard time holding on to my hand and when she flies, she lands on the nearest surface and just kind of lays there.)

I also noticed within some shredded newspaper/pine shave bedding, she laid two eggs that I didn't notice the day before.

Could she just be weak from laying the eggs? Or is there something seriously wrong with my girl? I'm quite worried....

I am at a loss.
It may be she is just fatigued from laying.
Is she prolapsed?
Does she have any cuts, wounds, or bruising?
Is she eating normally?
Is her crop empty?
Is she pooping?
Does she have grit available?
How old is she?

I use chicken layer feed to perk up laying pigeons like that, but only had a couple rescues get that bad. hope she perks/ed up and solves trouble. the extra proteins ect aside from just calcium will help, and if she isn't eating then pellets easy to get condensed soluable feed and grit in her. good luck!

Take her to the vet ASAP.

Birds that are showing these signs of sickness will go get worse quickly without help.

If could be a number of things.

A normal healthy pigeon will not get sick from laying eggs unless her diet it very poor and she has no calcium or grit to eat.

If she is low on calcium she need an injection as a boost, as by now eating some will not be enough.
