Something wrong with my hen

Noticed one of my hens lost some feathers around her head recently. Just looked her for mites. Didn’t see a single bug but her feathers are dirty like actual dirt under the feathers and she’s looking a little sparse. Everyone else seems good could she just be molting?

Noticed one of my hens lost some feathers around her head recently. Just looked her for mites. Didn’t see a single bug but her feathers are dirty like actual dirt under the feathers and she’s looking a little sparse. Everyone else seems good could she just be molting?

I have a chicken missing a lot of feathers and has dirty feathers like that. Also can’t find any mites. Hopefully someone has some knowledge they’re willing to share.

She may have dust bathed in damp dust. Sometimes my girls are dirty like that. Does she feel like she's a good weight? Check to see if she has a full crop at night and empty in the morning.
