Something wrong with my Sara goose.

You know when you were talking about the way she was tossing around her bedding and such I thought about her being broody but when you said she hadn't laid in a while I crossed it off. So she wants to be a mama how sweet. I hope you can find some fertile eggs or some goslings. That will make her so happy. I have a Brahma hen who will be 5 this year, she hasn't laid in a couple of yrs but likes to go in and lay on others eggs and after a while she'll sing the egg song just like she laid one. They can be funny.

Thank you for asking . I think she has gone broody on me. I'm boiling her some eggs right now . Prayerfully that will make her happy. I'm looking around in my area for someone that has geese that are laying. I'll even buy them if I have to....anything to get my girl happy again. I cried almost all night last night about her. She's not happy. I want my Sara back to normal. Her eggs are done I have to cool them down and get them out to her. Will keep all posted.

Their parental instincts are amazingly strong. She probably misses the company of Hannah and wants to make herself some new company

I think livininbrazil's idea to let her adopt a couple of day-old goslings is great. That way she doesn't have to sit for a long time before seeing a result.

My Sara is a happy girl

. I asked all around to see if I could buy some eggs for her, nobodies geese in the area are laying yet. I even call the food and grain store, they new of nobody. So I went to Hobby Lobby and bought her some goose eggs. Put them in her house yesterday, and she instantly started to make a nest for her eggs, she is SO happy and so am I,.... I cried. She's even eating her food now. Starting to walk better also. I love to listen to her talking to the eggs as she arranges them in her nest. She's moving around lots better and not falling to the ground. One of my utility bills will be $ 6. 87 short....I don't care I had to do something for her, she's my BEAUTIFUL girl, my only girl left. She's no longer grumpy. The night was so quiet . I checked on her last night around midnight and she was talking to her eggs. What a warm feeling that gave me. Thank you ALL for your concern about my Sara. Will keep all posted. Lady Hayley Halo.

Have you been on the Arz state thread and asked if anyone has eggs or goslings? it's in the "where am I where are you" thread. and I am so happy to hear she is doing so much better. Is she your only goose?

No I haven't been to that thread. I haven't seen it. Will have to look for it. Yes she's my only Goose, I have three Ganders, and Two Ducks also. The Ganders have even settled down since she has. I checked in on her around 6 p.m. last night, she was all snuggled in on her nest. I asked her, are you so happy now? She mumbled very quietly with her head laying on her back. Her eyes even look happy now.
