Something wrong with roosters crown?

I have heard of Blu-kote, which is the same sort of thing as hen healer. I do not have it though. I am also not an expert. I got my chickens in September. I got 16 Guinea fowl in July. Now I am down to 6 guinea fowl with 5 fertile Guinea eggs in my incubator. I'm a beginner.
We all start somewhere. Blu kote is fine as well. If you have Neosporin that's fine. It's best if there isn't pain relief in it. I read somewhere that ingredient wasn't good for them. I have been a chickie mom for 2 years now. We all learn. I learn something about them every day. This really is a great site for anything bird.

No, that's fine, I would think. Just don't apply it when the sun is beaming. Early evening is fine .. I use diamotaceous earth in my coop as well. Every change. It is very dry so it is dusty. Have you checked the coop for mites? They like to hide in corners, or where edges meet. They are small but visible. I do hope I helped a bit. I wish you well.
I have not checked the coop for mites. I will see if I can do it later when I go to feed them.

You have helped! Thank you!

I do not use the pain relief. Just normal. I do not have the cream though. Just the oil.

Let me offer a tiny bit of advice. You do not need to take every single bit of advice offered to you. It can be confusing and conflicting, and a lot of it is not all that helpful.

Diatomaceous earth (DE) is a respiratory hazard to humans and especially to chickens' delicate respiratory system, and it doesn't do much, if anything, to treat parasites. It's best to just say no to it when it is suggested.

Blu-kote painted on the black spots on the comb can help heal them and provide some relief to his discomfort. Oil and wound ointments are going to cause their own discomfort and make him want to shake it off. Blu-kote, when dry, isn't felt.

What is your location? It will help us understand the conditions you are dealing with and maybe we can help you figure out how to combat them to get some relief.
