Ok, tomorrow is trash day, so I usually give my chickens whatever is leftover if its still good enough. Wellllllll...
They didnt have TOO much chicken food in their feeder this morn, but had enuff to last til at least noon, so I didnt give them any.
Then I dumped out some leftover steak soup we had, with peas, potatoes, beef and carrots. They hate peas, but will usually devour the rest, they just never had it presented in the soup form before(I DID dump the juice out, lol), and the potatoes were whole, cuz mom cooked it a long time, and didnt want the potatoes falling apart. So she just put them in the soup pot whole. This was early on round noon.

Ok, so later, I asked my hubby, stupid me wrong phrase, and men being SO literal....."do the chickens have food, or did you feed them?" He says, "yup, they have food, I didnt need to feed them" This conversation kind of goes downhill for a bit, cuz I was in disbelief that they hadnt eaten all day... finally , "They didnt have much this morning, and they still havent eaten it all?? I asked incredulously...finally he answers "They HAVE potatoes out there, I saw them eating it, so YES they have food!"
Ok, ya dunce, I MEANT do they have CHICKEN food!
I didnt actually say this, but I was not exactly real sweet about my response either...sheesh! Guys, sometimes! [IMG] [IMG]

Ok, (speaking of spouses and chickens)
when I have leftover pasta I'll clean the kids dishes, throw it all on a plate and leave on the counter for the chickens for the next morning. Well, DH comes home and eats it, 9 out of 10 times, so there goes that chicken food.

Tonight he asked me if they would like spaghetti with sauce on it! Duh! Watch he'll wake up tonight and eat it off the counter.

    [IMG] Too funny.

Well, my hubby likes to tell me "tall tales". I ordered some AviaCharge and got it in the mail the day before yesterday. Opened it and have it sitting on the table. Well today he told me he put some in his tea this morning! I never know if he is serious or not!
I DID find out later he was funning me, but he said he seriously considered until he smelled it. (Smells a bit like sardines, probably IS really good for you, lol)
He HAD put some soap on his food as a sauce once, I bought some hand soap and had it sitting on the table and it had the big letters of ORANGE on it. Being from another country, he thinks anything on the table is edible. He is learning differently in THIS household!

    LOL

Mine would do the same to me.
He always looks at me like he doesn't know what I'm talking about...so I start explaining...he gets tickled...and I want to throw something at him.
He says he was just wondering how long I was going to explain that to him. I just tell him "until you get it" and try to look mad at him, but I can't cause when he laughs, it is so contagious...just irritates me!!!!

Yes our spouses can get a bit out of hand sometimes.
I get in trouble for giving mine the devon (crap stuff) and any ham in the fridge. He says "where did my ham go?"
I point in the direction of the backyard and wait for his "fallout" nothing sinister just verbal earbashing and when ive heard enough i just tell him where to go as im heading out the back for some peace!

My husband is literal, too. On weekends he's a sweetheart and lets the chickens out in the mornings (extra sleep, yay!). Well, it never fails.. I ask him if the chickens have water, and he'll tell me yes.
I'll go outside for something, check their water, and it'll either be full of dirt/floaties or will have poop in it. Drives me crazy! My hubby is like yours.. he would consider potatos to be food, too!

[IMG] That's why he has limited responsibility with the ladies, and I can't EVER see him being a farmer [IMG]

Too funny........my DH eats stuff off the counter for the chickens too. I mean weve been married 11 years and had chickens for maybe 5 months. Does he think I somehow forgot how to put leftovers in the fridge?

People food is in the fridge dear.[IMG] The plate of cold dried up leftovers on the counter is for the chickens.
