Sonic Pest Repellers--Okay for Chickens?

I have the same problem. I'm rural in a former hoarder house that I bought and cleaned up, and have yet to find something that works. They never left. I bought some of those hyped-up electronic rodent repellers that you plug in at Home Depot. It was around $30 for a set of two. Useless. The snap trap right under one of those repellers keeps catching rodents.
Thanks for replying!

We have snap traps and electronic rat zappers out there that catch rats. I ddon't mind using those, but my DH is freaking out. He has a high-end foreign car that he babies. Rats chewed through the wires on his O2 sensor and made a mess in his engine block. He's furious (rightfully so). We've caught 7 rats in 2 days.

This morning, one was still alive in one of the snap traps. DH is a bit of a ninny, so he woke me up to kill it. Not a fun start to a Tuesday. I don't start work until 9, but I was up at 3:30 killing a rat. Lol!

I JUST found electronic repellents you put in your car. We'll try those, too. At this point, anything that will calm DH down is a worthy investment!

I hear you, but have to do only a quick post. I'm on my way to get the van fixed. The little #$%^&*('s chewed through my plastic windshield wiper reservoir, but there is another problem that they may or may not have had anything to do with.

So sorry. The little buggers are just surviving, but it still ticks me off. Go live in the woods, dammit!
:he

Update: We got rid of the rats. All of them. We used snap traps, rat zappers, and sonic thingies you put under your hood. No idea which worked, but they are gone. No rat poop in the engine block. No more chewed wires. No more waking up at 3 am to kill rats. I'm SO HAPPY.

I noticed the complete absence of rat activity a few weeks ago, but waited to update to make certain I wasn't celebrating prematurely.

Ultrasonic Pest Repeller safe for use around chickens & livestock

Attached link above to the brand we use.

Has 9 different type of pest settings (rodents, small animals, ants, fleas, ticks, bats, spiders, and cockroaches) and two speakers for more effective coverage. We had fat rats in the coop and nothing worked. Outdoor cats couldn’t keep up with the growing colony, tried enclosed bait stations, electric traps. Only thing that has worked was the ultrasonic. Wouldn’t recommend the small ones as they don’t provide enough volume. Place the devices on the ground/in corners of coop at night time and it’s worked like a charm.
