Soo crows are good right?UPDATE

Well my hens started laying at the beggining of thes week and so far I havent lossed an egg! They lay inside the coop so I doubt the crows see it.They are a bit noisy but I saw them gang up on a hawk the other day so im happy with them.

The mockingbirds are attacking the crows because the crows have probably raided their nests and are making off with eggs/chicks. Other than that they're pretty good to have around...very wary birds.

I'm sure they were crows since the people who had the problem hunt crows. I've seen where after a farmer cuts the hay crows will eat baby rabbits. I wouldn't trust them for a second.

Crows are great — they will alert of and chase off hawks and keep the area clean to boot.

I just watched a bunch of crows chase a hawk away from where my chickens are foraging and buzzards trying to get the heck outta the way of the whole thing.

I've been fortunate to have a trio of crows spend time everyday in the trees on our riverfront, for the past 7 years. I've had chickens and guineas for those 7 years also. I see and hear hawks in the valley, but they NEVER approach our yard or chicken pens because they KNOW the crows will get them.

I LOVE my crows and am thankful to them.

I have both crows and ravens in my neighborhood and I love them both! They warn me when the fox or loose dogs are around so I can get out and head it off. They are noisy and they love to scold my dogs, but I will put up with that to help save my chickens. I have never seen them try to kill or harass my chickens or the ducks I used to have and they have never gone after the eggs either.

We have crows here and I not only welcome them, I feed them to keep them around. I live in a very wooded area filled with hawks and the occasional eagle. The crows not only alert us but our flocks as well.

If we hear the crows, we know that there are hawks nearby. The chickens run for cover, even the ones in the covered runs, and the roosters look to the skies as do we. We usually see one or two hawks flying out of the woods with crows and/or ravens chasing after them.

We even had hawks trying to nest here last year but the crows wouldn't allow them to. They went somewhere else. I'm not a hawk hater. I actually look to the skies when I'm out to see them. I love them but I don't want them attacking my poultry.

Yesterday a crow landed in my goose pen and the ganders chased him right out of there. He was rooting around in the hay looking for something to eat because it was raining. He decided it was safer to be outside the pen rooting around for bugs then it was inside. LOL
