sooo upset...

so an update on my egg disappearing situation.....went down to her nest..lifted her up and two eggs are gone...there is some egg shells in the nest and she had dried yellow stuff on her back(like yolk??)...im really not sure what did it...so we put the rabbit hutch in our greenhouse and got it all together for her and her babies....at first she was confused as to where she was..but now she is fine....sitting on 10 eggs that r left...im thinking it was just the other hens harassing her to get off of the nest so they can lay there eggs too...and a couple got broke...what im wondering is..what happened to the egg and insides....did she or the other hens eat them...hmmmm...what do u guys think???

I think either she or the other birds ate the missing eggs. I have had similar to that happen and caught some eating the eggs. If the eggs got broken they ate them. Just my opinion...

I agree, they won't eat eggs normally, but if one broke, it's eaten..usually. Especially if you have a lot of chickens, one is bound to find a broken egg a treat.
