SOOOO CUTE !!!!

Caught another one, smaller and a whole lot fiestier. This is getting to be ridiculous. The one I shot was pretty big, the last three were medium size, one bigger than the others. And now the smaller one. I guess I got the whole family. Dad, mom and the two older siblings, and the little one. Hopefully that's all of them.

Why do they have to be so darn cute ? They are becoming a real problem here:he. We had to kill one Saturday night, in my run. Since then I have set out the trap and have caught one every night !!!!!!! I let my dogs bark at them and scare the daylights out of them:eek: while they are in the trap, (like they do bears), then I take them away and let them go . I only kill the ones that get in, and I hate having to do that:hit, but I gotta do what it takes to protect my babies . Does anyone have any ideas on how to deter them ? Something that doesn't cost much, funds are as scarce as coons are plentiful . Thanks !
Hi, my father in law used a product from the farm supply store, Repells-all, granules sprinkled around the perimeter. The ingredients list is on the label.

we have a lot of coons here, (i use dog proof traps) shot 3 this last spring setting traps again now for this fall

but like others said electric fence could work good to deter coons.

DAMN, after a couple of nights being coon free, I got the mack daddy of coons this morning. Boy was he big, took up almost the whole trap, and heavy!!!!! The next one will be killed and skinned, then I'll hang the pelt for all to see. Beware of your fate. Don't mess with my babies!!!!!!!!!!!!:rant

Other than the electric fence, and the dogs, the only other thing I know that can help, is urine from a larger, more dangerous predator. A friend moved into a house that had a raccoon living in the attic. They asked a wildlife center how to get rid of it, they were told spray coyote urine around. They had 2 wolf hybrids at the time, so they used their urine. The raccoon never returned. May not work on all raccoons, of course, but it can't hurt. I'd still go electric, though.
