Thanks ya'll!! I'm still a lot shell shocked that this is actually happening to us!
Well, the Mustang was sold today. A few tears were shed by dd at seeing Mustang Sally go to a new home. She loves that car as much as I do, lots of good memories there of summers riding with the sunroof open to the pool, music loud and the bathing suits on going to learn to swim. I told her there will be a ton of good memories to be made in our future truck that she'll be treasuring before too much longer.
So, Mustang sold and the current landlord has official notice that we are moving May 1.
The new washer and dryer are getting moved in this weekend and am on the lookout for a decent relaible truck. That and moving boxes, lots of moving boxes!!!
Best wishes on your new farm. I remember the day we closed on ours. I pinched myself for weeks until the house was finally built and we could move in after 2 years of living in the city. Our family home burned when I was six and I still cannot forget the smell of the smoke and soot. Keep us posted on the move and your garden.
rrrmama, yeah, that is a smell that never gets out of your memory. I can't ever forget the week after the fire happened, I was in my burned out kitchen washing dishes trying to get some normalcy with piles of burned insulation around the huge kitchen and debris with a burned roof over everything and my dd's room in ruins on top of that.. As long as I was washing dishes, it was ok trying to clean things up and get back to normal.
Yes, I know now it was ptsd and I was in shock. All I was thinking of at the time was that we still had well water, and I tried to save what I could.
Will get the inside pics tomorrow. We have a key and all we're waiting on is the floors to be drying from sanding and being re done today. They have to dry so I can't get past the kitchen and LT until tomorrow afternoon then it's on and you are going to get so sick of me!!
Just read all 9 pages and am so happy for you--your excitement and enthusiasm shines thru. Makes me really appreciate what I have been blessed with at my own little place in the country when I read about how much this means to you...I guess I take it for granted because I sometimes see all the stuff I still want to do at my place (which I wouldn't trade for anything). Thanks for a great reminder of what God has already blessed me with...and again, many congratulations on the new chapter in your life. Awesome!
PS: Where in the country are you? Just curious...looks so much greener there:
This is so exciting!!!!! I want to go on a driving vacation someday and put a shout out to all bycers. It would be so fun to just camp in the yards of Bycers all over the country wouldn't it?? !! I have a big yard if anyone is going through Iowa this summer! We are 10 minutes from I 80 but you'd never know it!!!

Wow, is it 9 pages already?? Why yes it is, WOW!!!
Thank you for the congrats, it means a lot to me!!!
God has been SO good to us! It feels like "home" big time! Everytime I go over there it gets harder and harder to leave, I just want to stay and not come back home but I have to.
I've got pics but we've been out for the last two days truck hunting and I'm beyond tired. Will get some more now that we can get into the rest of the house, it is gorgeous!
We're in the Peidmont area of NC so it's spring here and everything is going crazy blooming and getting green. I'm SO behind on getting a tractor, we need to get that garden planted asap!!
I have a very dear friend that lives in Iowa, I'd love to visit but I have a feeling I'm going to stick close to home for a while.
Oh, interesting fact. I got a look at the landlady's Mom's house across the street today.... I know for a fact that my Mom knew her Mom! I've been in that house visiting with Momma when I was a kid! How cool is that?!?
