I am SO sorry!! I have been throught that pain.

When my first batch of chickens were 5 weeks, my dog snuck into their pen and killed 5 of them

It was sad, but after that i bought more, and now 3 of them are laying to far! Everything will work out, because everything happens for a reason.

I believe you have to be a "chicken person" to understand how much losing one hurts. Contrary to what some may think, the girls are NOT "JUST CHICKENS"

Sorry you went through this today - at least your girl died loved and not caged in a factory farm...

So, so, very sorry for your loss!!! Please don't beat yourself up for not knowing what/how/why it happened....but rather, take some consolation in the fact that you gave her a very, very good life! She was loved and she didn't suffer long. I know very well the feeling of loss and how LOST I feel when it happens....because as tough and resiliant as chickens can be, they can be equally as delicate, and their absence just hurts.
