Our chicken Sophie had a sticky bum and was lethargic, bobbed her in a bucket and was horrified to see maggots and lots of them. We found a wound under her bum, washed her again, blow dried her thinking we were done. When i put her down I noticed something ugly, she had more and lots more a 6- 8cm open wound crawlung. I told my daughter we were being cruel she said " No Mama we are saving her" Sophie by This time had eyes closing and laying on her side. We had done the Epsom salt bath, the hydrogène peroxyde, the iodine but There were to many maggots to Pick off and we had gone green long before. We needed a maggot killer. Then brain wave, her mite treatment, we sprinkled her wounds and then all over, the maggots writhed and dropped off. Soph needed a rest, we syringed some multi vits and Thyme tea into her and left her un a box for a few hours..little by little she got better, today she cant wait to get out. Her wounds are almost covered by new skin now. I would Never have thought it possible to being her round but thanks to my daughters persistance and True grit in the face of disgusting maggots Sophie is un pretty good shape
