So, I was looking out my backyard at my rabbits run. I noticed this on the fence, looking at Sophie, my Netherland Dwarf/Californian.
This is an American Kestrel, a small falcon. Preys on mice.
Sophie didnt run. she continued to graze. She wasnt afraid of the Kestrel. Same thing happened a few days ago, but it was a full grown Red Tailed Hawk.
She is a tough rabbit, very territorial. She killed a cat once and chased off a red tailed hawk once. She doesnt get scared easily. It doesnt surprise me that she is not scared of a Kestrel. She is probably thinking, "First off, I am very territorial. Second, I am 3 times your size. You dont stand a chance against me!"
Smart and tough, thats my Sophie!
