sore navel?

My silkie chicks are hatching! 4 are hatched but the fourth one hatched in less than 10 minutes and has a red thing where a bellybutton should be. I dont know if it is a sore navel and there is no blood but the chick seems ok. I appreciate any help!

if you need to keep her separate, someone used the botom of old milk jug for that purpose. KEEP the area DRY!

Can you take a picture?

Sometimes their umbilicus gets pulled during hatch when they separate from their egg if it's still fairly thick and not dried up all the way. I have had a few where it stayed attached for quite a while and pulled the egg around, making it a bit sore.

I try and just let is stay attched some times the chick kicks around so much I just clip off the shell so it doesn't get worse.

Oh it is not attached to the shell it is just a stub
