I'm not sure what you could do for a chicken hernia, really, or even a benign cyst. The problem is that it's hard to know what it really is unless you have a vet examine it, or at least someone with lots of chicken experience. Lots of old timers know as much as the vets seem to. I did show the cyst by photo to my friend's vet in Ky-I call him my long distance vet, though he usually does horses (she has an Arabian mare) and he gave several possibilities at the time.
