I second the hot lemonade. I make hot lemonade, sweetened with honey and often add fresh grated ginger. The honey, heat and lemon help the throat, and the ginger just tastes good.
I use lemon juice about 1/2 inch deep in a mug, a couple of tablespoons of honey and water. I zap it in the microwave until it is hot, stir it up and drink.
The ginger is also good for coughing and upset tummies.
