. You see that nasty patch in the center of that black skin? It looks like necrotic tissue to me. I had a hen with persistent trouble instigated by a deformation. Getting it to heal, trying different medications, and keeping it clean prevented the problem from reoccurring. It is either that or cull. It wasn't too much trouble so she had a good quality of life.
