Hi I have an indoor rooster that appears to have canker, however im not entirely sure thats what it is. At first I thought the big sore in the side of his mouth was just a scab from pecking at dumb stuff but now theres a dry white scab on both sides of the inside of his mouth. He doesnt seem to be uncomfortable atm but it doesnt look good, any thoughts on what this could be? Also I have two pigeons livibg in the same room their always separated but i know canker runs rampant in pigeons

I know their not the best pictures but thats as good as i could get em:,)

Is there a bad odor?
If so, then treat with Metronidazole.

No odor, then it may be Thrush or Fowl Pox, hard to know. Thrush, treat with a an anti-fungal medication. Fowl Pox is a virus, so usually has to just run it's course.

For the lesion on the outside of the beak, I'd be inclined to dab it with some Iodine.

Keep your water stations sanitized.

Sorry its taken me a bit to reply i was a little busy ive smelled his breath and theres no odor it has gotten a bit bigger since i took the pictures and the ones inside his mouth are starting to get black patches. Are there any other kinds of common chicken illnesses that could cause this? So far im leaning towards fowl pox but i cant tell since all the pictures on it are so advanced

Ive managed to take some better pictures of his mouth and im starting to think its canker since i have pigeons and havent seen any mosquitoes where i live. I forgot to mention also the other day i came in the room and his beak was stuck on the cage and he kept thrashing around for i dont know how long😢
