Sorry one more, what kind of chicken is this?

I hope i'm not hijacking this thread, but now that you guys are talking about minor color variations, I'm wondering the my rooster is actually a RIR. He has lighter coloring then roosters on Google lol! Wondering what you think! @Bruce Moore, I hope you don't mind! :D

You can see my supposedly RIR hens in the back corner, and nearly visible behind him as well, there about the same color as one picture by the OP.

Not a RIR, looks more like a RIR x Gold Buff Orpington to me. ( Just a guess )

Did he come from a hatchery? The hen in the back left looks like a Production Red.

We got the hens from a feed store, either TSC or CHS Northwest. More likely CHS, but she probably came from Hoovers then, I believe that is were they usually get there chicks from.
Sam, the rooster, we got from a friend who needed to get rid of him. We needed a nice rooster, so we took him. He's a sweetie. Thanks for the info guys!
