It sounds like you may be overfilling the channels for the water. What kind of incubator are you using?

If my incubator's water channels/wells are full and the humidity isn't high enough - this would usually only occur at lockdown - I add wet (antimicrobial) sponges. Even wet paper towels will work, too, but I find that you have to dampen them more frequently.
