Sort of Moulting and Thin Shells

My 9 month old hens are sort of moulting, not a full moult but here and there feather loss. I'm not too concerned about that but at the same time I am getting a couple of eggs that are very thin and soft. I can't even pick them up. Egg production is down about half. Is it normal sometimes for moulting hens to lay thin eggs? These are my first chickens so I'm not sure.

Add extra Protein to their Diet.
and be sure they have Oystershell available 24/7 (strengthens eggs by providing addition calcium)

When mine start to moult they stop laying until the moult is over, then they will pick back up.
When you start getting eggs without shells, keep a close eye on your girls. Occasionally you can get one that breaks inside your hen and she may need flushed out. Are they on layer rations? Some hens need more calcium than others, if they don't eat the oyster shells on their own, you can mix some into their feed as well.
