Had chickens for a couple years but about to have to restart after predators getting almost all of them. Have had success with keeping Rhode Island Reds, Buff Orpingtons, and Bantams and successfully breeded a Bantman rooster with a Buff. Looking forward to learning stuff on here.

Welcome to Backyard chickens. It would be best to fortify your coop and run before getting a new flock. Have you checked out the predators forum and coops section. They will give you some great advice, so that tragedy won't continue to decimate your flock.

Actively working on the coop and trying to catch the bobcat and coons that are around. I trap all the time anyways so have everything I need to get the predators around me.

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to our flock. I'm sorry about your losses to predators. It's always sad to lose some of our flock. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck in protecting your flock from predators.

So sorry for you losses.

Welcome to BYC and the coop. There are a lot of great peeps here! Ask questions and most of all make yourself at home. So glad you joined.

Welcome from Middle Georgia. Glad you joined us.

So sorry about your losses and wishing you better luck with future flocks.

Consider fortifying an all in one coop with run and picking breeds that are happy in confinement. There are always more predators to come.

Thanks. Yeah this isn't the first time. Had a coon get 1 one night then set a trap and got it the next night.
