A storm was gathering. Funny thing was, it was indoors. One didn't have to see the wind or smell the rain, hear the thunder or feel the electric kiss of static across the skin, to know it was coming. It was the deep-down alarm that sounded in any living creature as the dark clouds gathered.

No umbrella would save a person from this one either... as it was human in nature. Brennan slammed the heavy door behind him, hard enough that the iron banding rattled in its hinges, and headed down the hall. His eyes were open, facing ahead, but it was plain he wasn't seeing anything in his path. A slender fox darted at his heels, casting furtive looks up at his companion.

The young man looked to be maybe twenty or so, no older than twenty-and-five, and bore simple garb, a set of vambraces and light armor that had seen better years, and the cruciform hilt of a sword rode low over a shoulder. Fawn brown hair was tied back in a tight tail that swung between his shoulder blades. Leather gloves creaked as he flexed his fists. As he stormed across the flagstones in an obvious temper, the fox nipped at his heels, trying to direct him. Not that it did much good.

She happened to look just as the fox gave an alarmed yip, grabbing hold of the back of his companion's boot - so the impact was minimal, instead of a full-force collision. Bren snapped out of his daze, standing on tiptoe as he almost overran an innocent bystander, arms out for balance. With the fox's aid, throwing its weight back, he hovered for a moment, then settled back on his heels. "I'm sorry!"

snow flinched away while stonesong growled.snow recovered herself "its ok."she said

The fox flinched back from the leopard, shrinking down. She wasn't stupid, she knew a losing fight when she looked at it. And she liked living. Bren looked down at her, moving a foot in front of her just as a spot to hide, and cleared his throat. Deep breath. "No, no...It's... I'm I'm sorry. I wasn't watching what I was doing."

snow said some words to hush stonesong and sighed"its fine really,I wasn't looking where I was going ether."

Small comfort, the fox quipped. You would have smashed the poor thing into the wall in that fit!

Brennan shot the fox a look, then cleared his throat again. "Well... I guess we were both at fault. My name's Brennan."

There was a hard nip in the back of his knee and Bren's hand snapped out. "Uh, nicetomeetyou!" Knock it off, Celia!
