I don't know...sometimes mine gobbles and i'm pretty sure its a female. She also is around no other turkeys though, only chickens, so maybe my turks a little gender identity confused. She trills alot too, i've only heard her gobble when I whistle at her though.
Hmm.I have 2 royal palms. They are supposedly around 3 1/2 months.I've been trying to figure out the sexes. One of them is much bigger. And the last couple of mornings I've heard the beginnings of a gobble. Seems like I may have a boy .
Females don't gobble but they make all sorts of clucks and trills. After all, you're only allowed to shoot "Gobblers" when you go turkey hunting, DNR wouldn't appreciate people shooting hens.
Well then Sunny is probably just dumb lol. She's only done it a couple times and it's not a very strong sound. It's a result of us gobbling at her and she'll "talk" back.
I've got 8 turkeys and they all gobble together at the same time. I may have one hen, as she doesn't strut as often or for very long. Trys to gobble with others and shorter snout. The rest are definitely toms. their 6 months. i'll keep an eye on her/him, as still not convinced either way.
