My ISA brown rescue hen, Lulu, seems to have sour crop. The crop is very squishy and liquidy, she's not eating but has been drinking water. She's been like this for two days. She doesn't seem to feel bad, she's pretty perky and doesn't look sick. Occasionally she'll shoot out some white stuff out of her butt which I was told was just urates because she hasn't eaten anything solid for a few days. I got some Nystatin and it says 1 cc. per 2.2 lbs. of body weight. She weighs 3 lbs, 10 oz. so I estimated about 1.5 cc's of the Nystatin. She just got her first dose. Can she have food if she will eat it? I read elsewhere it should be something easily dissolvable. Is that correct? Can I give her free access to water? Thanks in advance!

My Mendlesham Blue has recently had sour crop. I made her throw up to get rid of it and then gave her porridge (hot water and oats) along with a bit of olive oil and yogurt which she loved and it worked really well and seemed to help everything move through the crop. So if you were thinking of something to feed her that will help her crop, try this xx
