one of our chickens has had a huge swollen crop for a few days now. He's acting normal, and was eating normal until I took him out of general population, and I have him in a kennel. I took away his food and water, and I thought it was an impacted crop, but its not because its squishy, and he keeps making these motions like he want to vomit. I had treated him with mineral oil and ACV thinking it was impacted. What should I do now? I just put some water with ACV and pedialite in it. I just don't know what to do now. Hes eating yogurt with chick started mixed in, and I've been giving water with organic ACV, as well as 3cc's of ACV orally he's also pooing (Runny) and his waddles seem to be a brighter color red today... I just can't seem to get the crop to go down in size!

Keep him isolated and continue to use ACV and very soft feed (soaked in warm water so it's a slurry is best). If it's a mild impaction - then over a few days he should work through it. If he gets worse you should have him checked for parasites. It's annoying having to keep him separate but that's what he needs right now. Good luck!

does his mouth smell bad? if so, it might indeed be sour crop. i agree, yogurt is good, but make shure its live yogurt. if he is tame enough, gently massage his crop with your fingers.

I've held him upside down twice not (over the last 2 days) and he's managed to hack up some liquid, but his crop hasn't gone down. What should I do now?
