Sour Crop HELP

Hey there folks!

My chicken, Autumn, might have sour crop. Here is why we think it:

• We can hear a gurgling sound when she walks.
• Her breath smells 'sour'
• When she bends down, even the slightest, he lifts her head back up - we think it is because she wants to keep the thing inside her.

We have done some research, and it does seem to be Sour Crop. The thing I ask of the community is to help me help her fight it. What can we do to get rid of it?
Please bear in mind that we cannot travel to the vets due to lockdown.

Any help?

One method is to massage her crop very gently for a minute or so and wait an hour before doing so again if you can repeat that process of every 1-2 hours massaging for a minute and give no food to the chicken only give clean fresh tap water on access to the chicken always

Its ok. The hen is perfect now! All you have to do is massage her crop/burp her every now and then for 1 minute.

Oh fantastic news! Every time I pick her up fluid comes up and she is now gurgling. So worried she will aspirate but I can’t massage without it producing something! So worried to do the wrong thing. Great to know it’s worked for you!
