HELP!!
I think one of my chickens has a sour crop!
I didn't try smelling its mouth, but he has a squishy, waterballoon-like crop that's about the size of a tennis ball!
His crop didn't empty overnight, and he was also jerking its head like a snake!

I'm not very comfortable with trying to vomit him (I'm a total amateur, so I'm afraid I might do something wrong)
And a surgery is an absolute no-no for me...

Does anyone know any natural remedies for sour crop problems?

Anyone??? Please???!!

I would seriously recommend trying to vomit the bird first, try picking it up and tilting it's head down, just lean forward at the waste and rub the crop a little, see if anything runs out...

I used a small syringe (from feed store) and put 2cc of olive oil in it. Give 1cc to chick, slowly, so the chick can swallow it. Then massage the crop a little, gently.

I repeated it later in the day. If you can get the acidophilus pills, break one open and put the powder in the olive oil before you admin.

If you can't get them, offer the chick a dab of yogurt.
