I wanted to post this as a warning to others, I'd read that massaging a chickens crop would help them with sour crop , my chicken I thought had sour crop, earlier today I massaged her crop it seemed fine, about an hour ago I did it again but this time she asperated and died from the liquid going up from her crop into her lungs, it happened so fast I couldn't help her...she died basically in my arms, please don't massage your chickens crop....just take her or him.to the vet......

Massaging the crop should only be done with a chicken that has an impacted crop. Once it has turned sour is when you should not vomit your chicken. I did the the same thing and mine aspirated and died as well. Now I know better... sorry for your loss.
