Sour crop

We’re at the vet, mainly because I couldn’t just let her die and I couldn’t put her down myself. (I’m on a low income budget now that I’m retired.) They didn’t want to turn her upside down to drain the crop fluid because of the risk of aspiration pneumonia or drowning if she inhales while the fluid is pouring out. They will aspirate the contents of her crop, and if she survives that, they’ll give me antibiotics and I’ll go home. Xrays are $232 so I said no to that.

And endoscopy is only done by a surgeon! Give me that instrument, I’ll do it!

I fixed my chick by giving him lemon+baking soda+ water and then massaging his crop.

I later let him eat some grass and gave clean normal water.
Next morning empty crop he was like this for about 4 days.

I give water through syringe because he refuses to drink from drinker.

I've lost about 12 chicks from this various ages.

How much of each do you give?

How do you treat sour crop (crop stasis)?
The treatment steps in the article below is what I use to treat sour crop and other crop issues.
I buy Clotrimazole at the Dollar Tree ($1 a tube) and it seems to work well for me.
Read the article and all the comments too - Carol gives good info there.

I see you were able to see the vet, hopefully your girl will recover quickly. Keep us posted on how she's doing.
