I have one of my hens quarantined with a bad case of sour crop.

She had gotten sick a month ago and seemed to have recuperated well from the illness through the use of antibiotics.

I saw her lethargic again around two days ago and she had a bad case of sour crop. Im guessing her going back with her flock after being isolated for a while may have been the cause, as none of my other hens have any signs of issue.

Her poop is VERY liquid and has some green areas. The liquid itself is of a white, clear and cream coloration. These green spots are weird because they're so concentrated that they look black, but they're actually a very bright green.

Earlier today I administered the first dose of Miconazole cream orally to her along side a little bit of boiled egg.

A few minutes ago I tried giving her some egg again as she's very weak and thin, but her crop is so full of liquid she ended up puking out a greenish, foul smelling liquid. (This was right when she was squirming around because I was putting food in her beak, It seemed to have shot out of her crop right as she was moving).

I took out her water in hopes her crop will drain enough to give her some food again as she's malnourished.

Is this the right call? Should I be worried.

Thats what her poop is looking like.

She now has free access to some food and I gave some electrolytes in her water.

Ill review both articles

The situation is not looking good. Shes extremely thin and light as of right now.

Her rapid decline is making me wonder when the illness actually started. Seems as if I caught it too late

Im hoping for the best.

Her poop doesn't look great but it is understandable with the lack of her eating. How is she doing today? I would also give her some poultry cell or nutridrench for a boost.

I dont know if shes doing better or worse.

Im giving her some electrolytes in her water.

Her crop is emptying now, which is very good. She had a lot of contents in her crop and although its still half way full, it doesn’t feel as bloated as yesterday.

Shes very very weak. Shes not as alert as yesterday and its noticeable.

Her poop is no longer as white as it was before. It has more of the green color.

She hasnt pooped as often today but im hoping she’s digesting what ive given her. Ive had to feed her by force as she will not even look at food.

Hopefully she gets her nutrition well enough and she recuperates.

Ill keep updating
