sour crop

Does anyone have a suggestion on how to prevent or safe guard hen from getting sour crop?.

Probably, the best thing you can do is to provide grit free choice.

Thanks for the suggestion. I do have grit available at all times but this is the second hen that i have lost in about 4 months. Im sure it is sour crop the first hen i was able to remove the fluid and she was ok for about 2 months. Then she declined showing signs of sour crop again but this time i didn't find a great amount of fluid. With this happening i decided to change the brand of lay pellet. I did this gradually. All the hens (including the dead one) are well feathered and have good body weight. The coop is cleaned weekly with total change of shavings. I just can't figure what is going on.
