I have regular pellet feed for mt chickens. I recently noticed that it smelled very sour, however my chickens are still eating it, and they seem to be laying less eggs but my bantams often take breaks from laying. What should I do?

X2---- and when you go to get new feed CHECK THE MILL DATE on the bag! Don't buy anything over 2 months old. Different brands put the date in different places. Some on the bag, some on a tag. Purina prints it on the sewn on white ribbon strip across the bottom. And Purina has it somewhat in code, the first # is the yr. So 9= 2019. All the others I have seen write it the way you and I would write it.

How long have you had this bag of feed? Take it back and get a new bag, if you recently bought it. Post a picture of the date code, if you can't figure it out.
