Source for best quality chicks: store? hatchery? private breeder?

Lesson learned here. I am in love with the silver laced wyandotte and bought my first one from a local feed store. She's not looking as laced as I'd hoped but ah well.

I'm also sick of how hatchery chickens lack size.. There decent layers, but I ordered some new jersey gaints from a hatchery and they say 13 lbs male and 10 lbs female and the females I have are like 5-6 lbs and full grown some look like bantams... I made a order to get chicks from duane urch this spring who is a mix of a breeder/hatchery he has great birds that meet standards.
