Sourland and the turkey vultures

This morning while I was out running dogs, 4 turkey vultures circled above me for 45 seconds or so. They got within 25 feet of me andd would cock their heads as they went by one at a time. They would then look at one another almost as if to say, "Is he still moving?" Do you think that they were just curious or do they know something that I do not know?

Please say they were just curious.

I have a whole flock that roosts right outside the front door. Not a good feeling at my speed!
During the spring, they go hang out and sun on the sign in front of the funeral home a mile away.

When I was a child we would lay still on top of a hill in the summer and see how low the vultures would circle. Having a dead animal nearby helped.

I showered last night, and am a young 70!

The gleam in their beady little eyes was frightening. Ranchy, funny one about the funeral parlor.

Maybe that's why they passed me up.
