He's the one who made her broody in the first place!!! ...Unless you had something to do with it....

Noooo!!!!!! It wasn't me! Honest! Coulda' been that Imp, or maybe Em, or even Gritty that made her get off the nest!
I'm thanking him too, "cause I have one now too!

Listen up...I am a professional chicken farmer.

The best way to keep your broody hen on the nest is with
that old stand-by, duct tape.

Yep. Tape them right down nice and tight.

We use to use string, but the rooster got to where he could undo
the knots. Then he would stand back and crow about it.

Pour sourland, his broody gps is broke and now broody's are jumping ship. I am waiting a few more days and make sure my broody is good and broody.

Hey, hey now - you all cannot blame Sour if the broody leaves the nest early.

He just sends the broody vibe - environmental factors do take their toll on broodies also - and this is beyond the Sour's control

Now that I have stuck up for you Sour - I call uncle. I am full of broodies - 1 bantam RIR/Rosecomb with chicks, 2 SL bantam cochins with chicks, 3 bantam SL cochins setting on eggs AND now 3 large fowl setting on eggs.

I have run outta kennels. Uncle I cry, uncle.....................and yes I am turning off the incubator (I think)

The local Tractor Supply doesn't carry chicken-tape. Says it's to
expensive.

So we use the duck tape, just have to be careful with it. NEVER
never use duck tape on the actual egg itself. I had to learn the
hard way, tried to tape a crack in an egg.

The chick came out with webb feet.

So in no way should one use duck tape on an egg. Unless of course,
you're trying to raise a duck.
