You won't be far from me then! I'm not sure about poultry clubs or shows since I'm fairly new to chickens but wanted to say Welcome to South Carolina!

thanks...trying to get the details hammered out with the company this week...would like to be situated by the begining of dec...job will probably be in newberry...any recomendations for country areas to live with good school districts?

I'm not sure about the school districts. We moved to Greenwood earlier this year and are disappointed in the schools. But my kids are in private school and loving it! Ninety Six is not terribly far away from Newberry and I've heard they have a decent school district. It's a cute little town with a cool fort. Cost of living is low though! We love it here.

Kelly,

I got a couple of JG from Mr. Crawford and they are awesome! I live on Paris Mtn. right before you get in Traveler's Rest so wanted to say hi!

Hey, Jackie! Thanks for sending some business my way! Those folks were very nice and I found out I went to school with the man. As I said, I grew up right there, too. I heard the BO are your favs.
I helped them get started with a few chicks and look forward to seeing them again. Please come to visit when you get a chance. I always love for others to see what I have going on. It changes and grows constantly.

BTW, I love the JG and have recently hatched out about 25 chicks for my own purposes.
I crossed the JG girls with my Langshans roo and have some huge chicks. I thought my Marans were humongous but those JG/Lang crosses are much bigger. I can't wait to see how they lay and how big the roos will be. I am still setting their eggs but they have really slowed down. I know they hate being in a breeding pen after free ranging. They will soon be back out with the others though. I have too many more breeding programs going on to tie up that pen with girls going through a molt.

My website is about to be updated. It is so big and I am sorry for anyone on dial up as it has so many photos that it may be a problem to view. I have added lots of new pages so this winter it will give everyone something to do by looking it over. I will let everyone know when it is uploaded.

Hey Amy! Glad to do it! They were super sweet and I know their little girl was so excited to get some chickies of her own. My BOs, Ashley and Taylor, haven't laid yet but they are the sweetest and give me all the good coop gossip! Shannon, the bigger SLW is head hen and has randomly started crowing..doesn't happen all the time but wattles are huge and still no eggs! I think she's too busy being bossy, but I so hope she's not a roo! I lost the other SLW to a hawk about 4 weeks after I got them. Sigh.

Are you going to do any Giant Cochins this spring or summer? I'm always interested in what you got breeding and I will def. check out your website!

Hugs,
Jackie

Lovely ducks. I just sent you a message

Lisa

Thank You very much for your lovely ducks. Big Puff is now called PomPom, little puff is Fiona and no puff is Tula. They came charging out the carrier, Khakis all ran 1 way and kepta runnin, Babies ran another way and stopped to look, Pekins all puffed up like Banty chickens and scattered when these 3 came charging out. It was funny to watch...yes I know Quarentine and all, im a bad mama...blah blah.
They ran round after the Pekins while the Pekins ran to get away from them, in the end the babies went in for a good look and body checked them a few times as if to say its my pool, my bowl of food, my bucket of water...babies are 11 week old runners and a Jumbo Pekin who think they are hot S**t now they get to spend more time with the big ducks. Looks like everyone is going to get on together.
Oh and the soap, used it once I got home and I still have a nice flim over my cracked open fingers, nice feeling...thanks once again. Im sure over time if you look into the duck section you will see photos. Thank Lisa. x

Hi Nicky! Nice meeting y'all yesterday. The new girls should settle right in there --- they'd been sharing a pen lately with several other ducks and a bunch of chickens. Did they try the pool yet?
Oh! I completely forgot to try to talk you into taking a couple of the boy-ducks home with you, hahaha!
