My mom's class has several beehives. I can give you the contact information for the teacher who is in charge of beekeeping if you'd like. They're located on the east side of Atlanta in Decatur. They've had bees for several years now and have dealt with re-queening and swarming (moving) as well as the usual maintenance and "how do we get more honey" stuff

Sorry I've been MIA. First trimester is less than fun. Sad to say That roaming got the best of Midas and he escaped the fence and got hit and killed by a car. DH is devastated and I'm really sad too.

So very sorry.

So, I'm very far behind on messages. December is totally kicking my butt. Last week we had my oldest son's 17th birthday. I also took my boys to have their picture made for a gift for my Mom. Last night was the first family Christmas dinner. Today my neice had her recital at the Governor's school, sang two solo's (she did great). I finally got my Christmas tree decorated today. It's been standing with lights on it all week, waiting on me. The decoration boxes are still in the middle of the floor. Hopefully I will have a few customers tomorrow. My printer died and the new one that I bought won't work on my internet for some reason. Now to choose either spending several hours on the phone with Tech Support or return it and try another one. I've been hatching quail, marans, salmon faverolles and bantam cochins. My big accomplishment this week is that I emptied one incubator and UNPLUGGED it! It was hard, like letting go of one of my babies.

I'm still trying to thin my flock as I can't afford to feed all of these birds.

I have placed my cuckoo marans flock (with a good friend so I can get some back later if I change my mind). I am selling my Jersey Giants too. If anyone is interested, I have one really pretty red frizzle bantam cochin roo who needs his own flock. I don't think I can add another roo to mine and I cannot add another pen right now. Hopefully tomorrow I will be able to wrap some gifts as I'm really not even sure what I have bought. Everything has come from Amazon and I stuck it wherever I could to hide it. Now I have to find it. I started keeping a list but .....

I plan to make some hard candy and Christmas cookies this week. That is usually a fun day spent with my boys but we haven't had a day at home to do it yet. Hasn't the weather been nice? It was actually hot one afternoon when I was out unloading food. I took advantage of the warm days and moved a few more chicks out of the house. I hope everyone is surviving the craziness of the holiday season and I hope you all take time to relax a bit and enjoy your family.
