Off topic: Does anyone need egg cartons in the upstate area? I met a really nice woman this weekend from Salem. She is moving and downsizing her chicken paraphernalia. I got a great A frame coop that will be perfect for an outside brooder/chicken hospital/ anything for 1 or 2 chickens etc. Anyway she mentioned that she's going to be selling 700 new unmarked foam cartons for $200. She bought them for 33 cents each. I told her I'd ask around. If anyone local wants them I can give you her email and cell phone.

BRRRR...Really didn't expect it to be so chilly feeling today! Funny that the last couple days over the pleasant weathered week-end my egg production was down but tonight I had an abundance...LOL Crazy weather and crazy chickens!

I guess maybe they hung out in the nest boxes to stay out of the wind!!!

It WAS freezing today. I had the baby all bundled up head to toe. Heehee I wonder if laying makes them warmer?

Does anybody vaccinate their chicks? And if you do, do you vaccinate them yourself or go to a vet?
