I jus got some runner eggs from Amy last night. She's a happy mama now

It is going to be a long 4 weeks, Jen! But that hen is going to be so happy to have babies!
And the hen was raised with ducks all around her so she will not be afraid of the "chicks" when they hatch out funny.

Will she get up to eat? Should I put food near her? I'm worried...

Oh yes, she will get up once a day to stretch her wings, eat, drink, make the biggest nasty poop you ever have seen or smelled in your life and maybe take a nice dust bath to scratch off any mites that find her. She will do that until the last 2-3 days when she will sit tight to the nest for hatching. If you happen to catch her off the nest during the next few weeks keep a spray bottle near and mist the eggs. The membranes are meant for water fowl and can use the extra moisture to stay soft and supple for hatching.
I always put starter feed out for my broody hens but when they are in a community nest like that they usually only get layer mixed with starter.

Anybody Around the upstate have any nice extra leghorn roosters from this years hatch they want to part with. Looking for 2. But one would do.

Garden starting to do good. Strawberries up the you know what. All this rain is actually very good. Peppers and tomatoes need a bit more heat. But I'm good with the weather. lol Beans in front, strawberries in the back and peppers to the right. Everything is actually bigger now. This was a week and half ago.
