South Carolina

I know what you mean about drying out as soon as we get to a point where we can think about plowing, it rains again. I think I an going to get in my boots and small till today before any rain hits, maybe I can get one load of horse manure compost worked into the top layer so the rain can leach it into the under layers. The green I'm tilling under will have about two weeks to decompose before the last till before putting something in here. We're down to some cool temps again so my mater & pepper babes will have to sit in my sills a little longer.

We also held off on a small mixed lot of early chicks from Tractor Supply this weekend because of unsettled spring weather.

Just loving this beautiful warm weather we are having. My gardens need to dry out so bad, so we can plant.
Hi, new to the group and Ilve in Irmo.

I finally got some potatoes in, and am hoping the ground will be tillable soon for the rest of what needs going in. This is just crazy!

to OwlandBear! And you are close by also! Maybe some of us local chicken people can get together someday.

I am chomping at the bit here to get stuff in the ground. Considering it is almost April

By the way they have a large bin of White Leghorn chicks at the Newberry. SC Tractor Supply . Fresh in so cute :)
Hmmm.....I am hoping my broody goes broody any day now. I have some pretty blue eggs and some Barred Rocks eggs she needs to be working on hatching. But I guess the chickens know when they can start raising babies, and so far...she just sits on her nest of wooden eggs and thinks about it.

I've got more broodies than I know what to do with right now! It seems like when one decides to set.......... they all decide to set.
