South Carolina

Orangeburg, SC here! I have a mixed flock of around twenty, a smattering of production strains with cochins, barred rocks, and gutter games.

No one else is finding debris in the Nutrena feeds? Is anybody feeding Nutrena poultry feed?

Got away from nutrena and Purina with the scares. As well as Dumor with issues last year.
We by from a local feed and farm that packages their own. As well as growing our own food for our chickens.

Unfortunately I tried the locals by me and had problems with bugs. Another had so many spider webs in the store and mill I figured they didn't care about quality. I heard it was new ownership but I haven't been back yet. I would love to grow my own but I don't have the energy, although they do get bunches from the garden.

Hey, Y'all! I'm raising chickens in the Lexington suburbs and guess what. I'm not alone!!! I have a few friends who have chickens and I can hear a rooster nearby. Would love to hear from others and get suggestions (I'm a transplanted West Virginian) regarding the local area. I also garden but turns out, I'm mostly growing chicken food.

I don't know where you are in SC but there's a guy in Lexington who specializes in rare breeds. I've bought from him before and he's a good guy. He has over 1000 chickens and loves every one of them. :-) His name is George.
